Photographer's Note

The proud owner of Abu Imad store in the souk of the old city of Sana'a. Walk through Bab-al Yemen and, at some times of the day, it feels as if you have stepped back in time. Yemenis are notoriously proud and they have every right to be. The Jambiya is carried by, I would say, most male Yemenis and is a source of pride and, in some cases, identifies a man's family and/or tribe.

I bought the one on the counter that is second from the left. Should have bought all four.....maybe next time.

As far as the photo goes, the shadows are a little dark and the whites are blown out but I thought this was an interesting photo nonetheless.
