Photographer's Note

The view from the Calgary Tower at sunset, looking east across the prairies. You can see the long shadow of the tower at left. You can also count the cars in the streets far below, and also spot why this is titled 'Performing Arts Here'. Just right of centre is part of the railway station & goods yards.

The blue river snaking across the city top left and fringed with bright yellow foliage during the Fall, is the Bow River, which originates in the Rocky Mountains further west near Banff. Taken with my old film camera using Fuji 200 ISO film. The observation deck of Calgary Tower is 157.5 metres above street level & the total height is 190.8 metres.

A great panoramic view of Calgary with lots of intriguing details. I liked the idea of writing that note on the roof of the arts building, sometimes tiny details makes quite big differences. this is a marvellous panoramic view with immense depth, fascinating perspective and amazing clarity. I like very much the great variety of themes and details that compose this view, the colours and contrasts and the light. The strong afternoon light is not easy to manage over such a complicated view that includes a great shadowy part on the foreground, but you've done an excellent work. Well done and thank you!

a shot with a lot to look at and made all the more interesting by the late sun and wonderful shadows. Love the light and the way it brings out detail and depth as well as adding the warmth to the colours and textures. Very sensual image.

The distance between the tower an the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of this area of Calgary. The sunset is giving nice colors to the scene. Have a nice day.

nice observation point and beautiful view in a nice evening light. I like here specially the upper part with a curves of the blue tiver and prairies. it is such a flat area, like near warsaw :). Top quality work.
