Photographer's Note
I've been busy today organising some of my photos, and spotted this shot from my Vancouver Islands West Coast "Long Beach".
Id like to dedicate this shot to people just starting out in Photography as inspiration. This shot was taken with a Canon Powershot S50 (a compact camera). It doesn't take a Canon 5D to take good photos, it just takes some practice- and looking for a "A different take on things..."
I hope you like the photo,
- Dan

Hi Dan,
Beautiful BW artistic viewing angle. I like this kind of photography a lot. One can see and discover incredible motifs everywhere if one just keep ones eyes open. My son thought this shot was cool...

This is indeed looking at things differently and beautifully so! B/W was a good choice here. Almost a painting! Well done Dan!

He Dan
Just been trying the same in B&W with those wellknown beachpaterns. Very well done and the effect of B&W and the reflections of those trees is great.

Hmm, at first glance it looks like "attack of the ice aliens" but it's actually quite a beautiful semi-abstract image, Dan. Very well composed with the way the bands spread wider toward the upper right. Regards, Ken.

Hey, Dan, this is an incredible shot, I a'm really glad that your organizing your files..
Excellent b/w work, although I'm sure that it wouldn;t be less stunning in colors. Sharppness and contrast, butt most of all - composition - are great.

For the younge novices..? Not necessarily.
This new look at certain aspects of photography we, old dogs, need as much as the rookies.
Great work, Daniel

I thought this was ice at first - looks like you are trapped underneath it. The tesxture on the sand is definitely enhanced by the black and white I think. I find myself looking at things from different angles after seeing photos like this and changing photos to black and white to see the difference.

Well this photo has certainly inspired me Dan, and I am a beginner. I love the abstract 3D quality, and the way you have looked at this view and thought about how to present it. I have added it to my favourite photos.
Lovely work indeed!
Greetings, Amelia
