Photographer's Note
Finally I visited Vancouver during Easter last month, a beautiful city with its spectacular scenery. We were lucky with the weather, beautiful days and a temperature of about 55 to 65 degrees F. We spent two days in the city before taking the cruise would take us to Victoria, Astoria Oregon, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and ending in Los Angeles. I do not come very often to TE but I want to hear from my old friends whom I miss dearly .
Hope you like the picture.

Hello Emile,
Fantastic view of Vancouver with the green forested hills behind the city and the high snowcapped mountains as a great backdrop.
The landing plane is an extra wonderful element.
Best regards, Paul

Emilius

Hello Emile,
Your latest photo alerted me to your visit to Trekearth, indeed part of a visit to the Pacific Northwest. The view of the small plane coming in for a water landing is well timed. It has been many years since I made a cruise from San Francisco, up the Inland Sea to Juneau, the returned to San Francisco. The ship at the time was the Royal Viking Line, the best of cruise lines in the 70s and 80s.
Warm regards,
Bulent

To be more precise, this photograph is showing the north shore/part of Vancouver, and what you see is not the city's downtown, but just a residential area, down there used to be an old shipyard, which has been dis manteled not long ago to make a room for new developemnets. Anyway the capture of the water airplain is nice, yet very easy to observe during a day, there is a sea airport and petro station located nearby, also a helicopter deck on the other side of the convention centre. Just below where the airplane is at, there is a seabus line connection between the Vancouver downtown and the North Vancouver, though the best view point on both parts of the ciry, I think is from the Stanley Park, almost entirely surrounded by water. By the road, you have only two choices to get there over two old bridges, which is way not enough for thousands of motorists using that route to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal, and further by road to Squamish-Wistler mountain resorts.
