I will let you make your own commentary on this pic.

Post-pro: levels, curves, colour saturation, sharpening.

I will just say that it was taken on the Art Gallery lawn in downtown Vancouver during an Anti-War protest (same location as my last pic: Indian Holocaust).

*** Please note that this isn't a War Protest shot. This was just taken during one! Sorry for the confusion.

His position in the grass is fantastic, very effective.
AS for a commentary your photo and its subject stands alone and speaks volumes.

It depends on what you actually want to show Alex...

Perhaps because it's friday and siesta time as I 'm writing this comment, that large area of smooth grass plus the view of someone resting on it encourages me to take a nap... I believe this was not the aim of the protesters...

Otherwise, your shot is boldly composed which I appreciate, but the sleepy guy would have needed a bit more light on his face, it gets hard to read or understand the upper part of his body.

I don't understand why you didn't stick to BW, colors are not that matching or exceptionnal moreover, grass texture could be so nicely rendered. This guy seems strangely floating above a cloud of grass, like a 2D image : I think some thorough light "carving" through BW processing could have helped give a more realistic 3D feeling.

Ullo Alex,

With the shadow on his face he remains anonymous, which for me, dehumanises him and he becomes just another urban object. Therefore, this is a very effective graphic bit of photography-- a refreshing perpective.

excellent picture and composition... all this green and suddenly some human colors... sleeping ? dead ? whos knows.. there's a strong contact feeling here, with nature and earth (his hand is touching the ground as if it's someone)

i like this composition - the guy fits perfectly the upper corner, and i like this empty lawn. the pose of the man reminds me one of pictures og HCB, but there were two persons, you have only one ;) good stuff
