Photographer's Note
I live way up there... Is that what the lady is saying? Perhaps....
While Toronto has to be considered a very green city given it's size, this particular area downtown is surrounded by highrise condominiums, entertainment complexes, highways, parking lots, hotels and office buildings, not much green left for the residents of the area.

her posture is comical and she seems to be saying your title. I like the tilt here. The sky is great and using black and white goes well with all the urban surroundings.
gritty, but fun.
It's late I am home, sick so TE has been my only distraction, so I have no more smileys left for anyone, so maybe when I wake up I'll return...

So that's how Toronto looks like...
I think it's a very interesting urbanic photo.
I like the "story" behind the picture.
Also, the shot angle improves the composition, as if you wanted to look by your self to the object she points on.

walking your dog there too?
the tilt works here, as the bridge is horizontally balancing it. maybe tilting in the other direction would balance it even more? i think i'd have tried that, filling the top left with the edge of the bridge, but i guess the positions of the people are not good for that..
overall your b&w is pretty amazing, with a BD feeling in the background. how much do you usually underexpose your images? just think the burning halos are a bit too visible around the people

Hi Peter, I like the interaction here, especially considering the height of the photo and that you caught her pointing it out. I also like the the exit ramp cuts the shot into two sections, one for humans (and dogs), one for the upper part tht belongs to the city.
Probably the only thing not to my taste is the strong contrasts look a little "Sin City" in the cloud area... and also around him for some reason (dark edges in his cloths on sides of him). But a cool photo nevertheless.

Peter, I think the composition and tones are fantastic here; you did an amazing amount with a relatively ordinary scene. The dark ominous bridge shrinks everything else into the details. Truly a comment about modern urban life.
My only suggestion is that the PP is a little too evident. Each person and dog is surrounded by an area in which the details of the ground are not visible. The halos around the buildings have already been mentioned.

Hi Peter,
Excellent image! I love the sky here, and the complex skyline. Even with the complexity the attention is drawn to the woman and her companion. Very good photo.

Strong and a bit sad picture about daily life in the big city. Nicely built up in layers, the weedy park, the ugly precast bridge monster, the post modern buildings and the stormy sky.

This is beautiful and very surreal! Do you do a lot of dodging and burning to your photos? Just curious. I really love your b&w photos!! JP
