Photographer's Note
Although the town of Banff,Alberta can get quite crowded with tourists in peak seasons, the month of May gives you plenty of room to appreciate the wilderness setting without fighting for a spot to shoot the main attractions:-) These are the Bow Falls on the Bow river just below the famous Banff Springs Hotel located in Banff National Park .
I had hoped for a blue sky that day but settled for whatever I could get.One thing I learned on that holiday trip was that a digital image looses considerable clarity when you select the lower resolution settings to save on camera memory.Next time I think I will bring along an extra memory pack instead, or not be so trigger-happy with the shutter :-)

Well composed Derek, the trees frame the water fall very well, and the mountain gives a beautiful background. The water is very white and looks quite a lot like the mountain actually.
The picture lacks a little clarity as you wrote, but it still works. I think the lightly over-cast sky gives a nice softness to the picture.

I like the framing of this one very much. Excluding the river from the foreground has worked well in my opinion. The dull sky has tended to make the mountain tops blend into the skyline somewhat but you can't control the weather.
It is possible to pull some more detail out and I have posted W/S.

Nice panorama, The colors and details are exquisite. I especially like the mountains in the background... Well seen, well commented.

The waterfall looks great with the backing of the high mountains. I guess the waterfall is at its best in May - same as we have end of May beginning og June are "waterfall" time as all the snow melts in the higher terrain.
