Photographer's Note

This is the Windy arm of Tagish Lake. The road is the South Klondike Highway. The Chilkoot Pass Trail is sometimes visible from the road. Upon reaching the top of the trail for the 30th to 40th time, carrying the last load of the ton of supplies, required by the Mounties, the miners built makeshift boats at Carcross and used the lake and the Yukon River to get get to Dawson City. Alas, when they arrived, all gold claims were staked. Yesterday's post shows a raft on the Yukon River.
