On the Phone and Waiting, a photo from British Columbia, Western

This pic is dedicated to Torben (don't know where he's been lately though). His pics showed me that you don't have to compose a subject fully in the frame to be effective. When I saw this scene at the KingsGate Mall, I thought of his work before I snapped the pic, so thanks buddy!

I was outside looking over pics I had shot earlier when this girl came out, looked at the rain, pulled out her cell, and leaned against the wall on her right (just out of frame) and made a call. I noticed the window, and the man inside looking out in the same direction as she, and I knew there was a pic to be had. I was amazed by the fact she didnt care I was pointing a camera in her direction from less than 2.5 metres away!

Anyways, I happen to really like this pic. I mean I think it's really a good pic. I hope I'm not deluding myself! Please feel free to share your honest opinions. I don't mind if you have something critical to say.

Post-pro:levels, curves, sharpening (oh, and that sign on the bottom was originally a blazingly bright yellow. I thought that much too distracting and as I couldn't crop it without cropping her hand, I selected it and played with its Hue, Brightness and Saturation until it was less noticeable).

HI Alex. I really like this one too. I think the girl on the phone is perfectly positioned and the sight of the guy through the window is another very strong element. Not that you can control it, but the light here is not perfect. However, asking them to wait for hours until the sun goes lower was not an option I guess. Good shot.

I like it too. It has several layers; the gal on the phone, the guy inside, the reflections on the window--and they all add up to an interesting communication.
