Boston Cityscape

I was actually preparing another photo from Boston, when I came across this one, which I had somehow skipped earlier, in spite of it being my favourite subject: a cityscape. This is a view of downtown Boston, at the end of Longfellow Bridge near the Cambridge Street/Storrow Drive intersection.

Dag Lars,
Ik dacht even dat er hier ook al een geel hesje te zien was, maar het bleek bij nader inzicht gewoon een geel T-shirt te zijn.
Zo佋 stadgezicht geeft toch weer een ander beeld van de stad dan een skyline van de city.

Ik den niet dat een betere foto kan nemen het heerlijk foto werk.
Zo scherp en met mooi gepaste kleuren een zicht over het stadsdeel.
Zelfs de voetgangers zijn een perfecte toevoeging.

Hello Lars,

The impression is of an excellent photograph, very well exposed and with superb clarity.
The duo in the f/g are a real bonus, scaling and animating the scene.
The cityscape is well collected, whilst the f/g could easily have featured with your father's posting ... men at work!

I liked the diagonals in FG and the presence of this couple in evidence, interesting the strip of old brick buildings and the higher modern buildings ahead.

Hello Lars,
It is a nice view of the high rises in the background, with some more traditional buildings in front of them. I am not sure I care fro the construction site, though that is what one has to constantly witness in big cities.

Hi Lars,

The concrete pathway adds good lead in lines and linear perspective. An array of various signs would be confusing to most visitors. The red brick building in the bg contrasts well with the blue sky and stands out from the other office blocks. Tfs!

this is a very pleasant composition. I like the two layers of the buildings: smaller but stylish ones closer and the modern skyscrapers on the horizon.
The couple walking towards you adds a nice romantic touch.

I think to recall where this picture taken, though - I see new high-rise buildings dominating the modern Boston skyline.
Picture is superbly clear and distinct in colors and contrast. A nice bonus to the whole with the couple stride along.

Dag Lars An irreproachable photo technique gives the impression
of a city deprived of streets, at backdrop, given so much buildings squashed-in together...for an intense impression of urban activity area! I like the overall hazed light depicting soft details and of course, these perfect vertical lines are quite admirable! Tot ziens.

Hallo Lars,
Een mooie foto van Boston met niet enkel hoge wolkenkrabbers. Eigenlijk vinden we hier een grote variatie in het soort gebouwen.
De kleuren zijn aantrekkelijk en ook de compositie.
Het paartje op de voorgrond zorgt voor een ontspannen sfeer op deze mooie foto.

I like the way you composed this view, with the couple walking towards us in the left. The layers of different architecture are also interesting. All of the older low-rises seem to be in the foreground, and the construction shows that the city is always changing.

i'm back from my Portugal/Spain trip, I'll post a new drone photo in the next few hours :) I looooooove cityscapes, they can be like postcards, and for some reason some photographers don't like that - not you and me though. this is a wonderful overview of Boston, never seen this view before. Just look at all the different styles of architecture here, some old, some modern. a great collection, awesome light too. cheers
