Photographer's Note

The area of Anjou where we were cycling was full of sunflower fields, though by early August many were past their best. These however were still smiling brightly and I could not resist stopping to take a few photos en route. I deliberately used a large aperture to throw the background into a blur and emphasise these three smiling beauties in the front row.

Looks like summer is comming back.....yes it is ,I just enjoyed the sunset and the next days we`ll have up to 30 �.
Excellent composition with the focus on the foreground,fantastic ,bright colors and amazing contrast.The blurred background works well for the composition.Very well seen and managed.

Susanna,

"I deliberately used a large aperture......" which was, no doubt, a good idea! Not only making the "smiling beauties" stand out at the front, but also making the shot stand out from the usual "sunflowers and deep DOF" shots which we see in abundance.

Hi Susanna,
A lovely well-balanced composition. Depiction that makes three smiling beauties stand out by using a large aperture of moderate telephoto is excellent. Two bees also seem to like these
smiling beauties.

Bonjour, Susanna. Comme tu le dis, tu as choisi la bonne ouverture. Les trois tournesols sont bien mis en valeur par la multitude de leurs semblables � l'arri鋨e-plan et le vert de la for皻. La nettet� sur le trio est tr鋊 bonne et j'aime bien de voir que les trois fleurs ont des tailles diff廨entes.

I love these sunflowers which are so YELLOW. It's great how you've got the first 3 so sharp and that excellent bokeh. Nicely saturated colours.

Le crop est pas mal mais moi j'aime le grand angle donc la vue generale me va tres bien, tres bon rendu ca deborde de soleil dans les couleurs de tes fleurettes, c'est tres lumineux, tout a fait l'ete.

Here's my first attempt at trying to write a comment since a long time and I hope that the site will not time-out when I click the 'upload' button.
This is really a wonderful compo and I like the way you've chosen a shallow DOF to make the ones in the foreground standout. Sunflowers make a wonderful subject for photos, but I've stopped trying to post them ever since I had a sunflower photo removed on TE...
