Horseshoe Bay, British Columbia

Horseshoe Bay serves as a gateway community to adventure on British Columbia's West coast. This very picturesque village is the West Coast ferry terminus for BC Ferries to Departure Bay in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, to Bowen Island and Langdale on the Sunshine Coast. It is also the starting point of the Sea to Sky Highway,that hangs on cliffs as it winds its way along Howe Sound, en route to North America's premier skiing and sports destination Whistler, together with the City of Vancouver itself, is to be the site of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Located at the entrance of Howe Sound, Horseshoe Bay is a bedroom community for Vancouver and area with interesting shopping, a marina and full tourist facilities.

Home to about 1,000 residents, Horseshoe Bay is actually part of a much larger municipality: the District of West Vancouver, one of Canada's wealthiest residential communities

The presence of mountains ending just a distance from the sea is always making landscape scenery much more attractive. This is one such location.

Hello Danos,
a charming panorama with blossoms, water and high mountains, it could have been taken in Switzerland or Austria as well. Curious, the colours of your pictures of Canada are really different from those taken in Greece, as if you had used another camera. I can not explain it to myself, are the lights there so much different? (Though the altitude does not differ extremely, it is about the level of Prague.)
Anyway, the photo is nice, without doubt.

The reflections in the water are assets to the composition. The tree in the foreground is framing well the bay. The point of view leads our eyes toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth to the photo. The good luminosity ius enahncing the colors. Have a nice day.

You found wonderful corner to build your skillful point of view. The foreground, bordered by barriers are just another frame in frame with colorful flowers and especially pink blossomed tree. I have caught this ferry umpteen times to see my sister on the island. The views can be beautiful, also jus lying down on the ferry and watching the stars. Very well compsed image, the bay is well coveraged and shows the daily ife of this small bay.

I had not seen this lovely bay. The atmosphere is a bit tough in comparison the Greece but the mountains in the bg and the gentle flowers in fg make it so fine and interesting.
