A little overgrown, a photo from Bourgogne, Central

In the small town of Poilly-sur-Serein we came across this beautiful house (mansion?) but it was looking a bit neglected. Ivy was starting to grow over windows and the rusty gate suggested that no one had been there for a while. Abandoned or just lived in part time?

The overgrown vegetation adds much to the beauty of this picture of the abandoned villa. All abandoned houses are sad and this one is no exception albeit in a very beautiful way. Captured with excellent photo qualities and framing.

Hello Ian, They say that when there are creepers on the walls, the walls are wet and the spiders come. It is not true. I love creepers and the walls of my home are also covered with them. Wonderful wall. The red one is Parthenocissus tricuspidata. The white on the right side is Polygonatum aubertii. They grow very fast so probably the house is not abandoned (it would be even more overgrown.)
I have both and some more. I am really crazy.

Hello Ian,
It looks like nobody had been here the whole summer. Maybe they would just spend Christmas here? It would be quite a shame to leave such a fine house to neglect. It's an interesting photo with fine colours, but it probably tells us that this kind of buildings need a level of maintenance that won't quite fit a modern economy.

Much of this big houses or small castle are almost not to maintain.
Notwithstanding a lovely old abandoned villa.
Nice depth and perspective too.
An excellent picture.
