Photographer's Note

I recently revisited the neighborhood of Bushwick in northern Brooklyn. Its a hotspot for street art, and home to the art group known as the Bushwick Collective. If youre a fan of street art, this is definitely a must-visit location.

Bushwick used to have a rough reputation, but things have changed in the past twenty years. Now there are coffee shops and performance venues, together with the more industrial warehouses and factories.

I decided to put together a small mini-series from my visit. There are more than one hundred works of art, but Ill be focusing on the people of Bushwick, both real and painted. :-)

The mural in the main photo is by NYC based artist Lexi Bella. The woman on the sidewalk had stopped momentarily to admire the art.

In the WS are more faces.
