Rockefeller Centre View, a photo from New York, Northeast

Photographer's Note

A one minute exposure from the Rockefeller centre. Security tried to stop me using my tripod (trip hazard they said) but I used some Limey charm on them and told them I would shield the legs with my body and have them flush against the glass. They reluctantly agreed.

This is a wonderful night shot, beautifully composed and with all the elements very nicely placed within the frame. Lovely lighting, perfect exposure, superb colours and stunning detail and sharpness.

You old charmer - luckily your charm worked because without a tripod, this shot would have been impossible.

This is gorgeous! I love all of the colors, as the sun sets and the buildings light up. The sharpness and depth are great, too. It is really too bad that tripods are not allowed. How can anyone get a good night shot without one?? I really like the way you composed this shot, with the building in the foreground placed on the far right side of the frame.

a wonderful, mesmerising view of the great city at sunset. I've never seen this view at this time of day. Thank you. Colours and sharpness are extraordinary, the lights are so clear and bright. The buildings have volume and our glance wanders not only over them but also among them into the city. Well done!
