Photographer's Note
Every spring there's a large flower show at the famed Macy's department store. Both the windows and the store interior are filled with flowers of every type in various displays. It's a popular event, and it seems that even the Empire State Building wanted to get a peak inside one of the store windows. :-)
The flagship store of Macy's is located in Herald Square, at West 34th Street and Broadway. It has been in the same location since 1901, although the original Macy's was founded in lower Manhattan in 1858.
The Herald Square location is one of the largest department stores in the world, with 2.2 million square feet (205,000 square meters), on several floors. The building itself is a National Historic Landmark.
Macy's was founded by Rowland Hussey Macy, and currently has 793 locations in the United States. It's also well-known for the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, which is staffed by volunteer employees from the store.
In the WS is a view from the main floor.

Hello Brenda,
Spring is such a happy season, when the winter cold is receding and the warmth and joys of summer are to look forward to. Spring flowers are great way of saying it! I really like how you have introduced the concept and shown the flowers, quite ethereal, as the f/g third, superimposed on the unmistakable icons of New York.
Have a great day,
Bev :-)

Hi Brenda,
A very fine effect here to combine the street scene with the Empire State Building with the reflected flowers. Very good colours!
Kind regards

Hi Brenda, the reform on Macy have finished?
Love this photo, the colors of the flowers on the glass are fantastic. The empire state in the background and the typical NY architecture adds contrast with the forground.
Well done.

Hi Brenda,
You certainly have quite the knack for spotting reflections, and this is quite and interesting one that fuses an icon and a season. A fun and original way to present the famed ESB while incorporating a lot of immediate color along the bottom of the frame. Ahhh, Spring is in the air...and well deserved after a brutal winter, right?
I've taken a handful of pictures myself from this area, but most likely would never have realized this kind of opportunity...so congrats on the fresh take...literally and figuratively. :) Hope you're having a nice weekend. Take good care.
Friendliest of wishes from the desert Southwest,

Hi Brenda
well, it looks like all your snow has disappeared!
thats good news!
I have to say, it always a welcome sight to see your NYC photos, but it also has a downside...it makes me want to book a flight lol
There's so much of the city that i still havn't seen, so much more to explore.
i love these large city-block type of buildings.
windows upon windows, and to have the ESB there too is super sweet.
nothing wrong with this one!
see you around

Hi Brenda,
Interesting shot. I thought it was a multiple shots merged image... or is it?
Beautiful!

Hi Brenda,
we all deserve Spring after a long Winter. It has been a quite mild Winter in Europe this year but i have seen it was fairly cold in the US. Cool shot by the way, two pictures in one, lovely flowers and ESB. Very creative shot and a good note, tfs!
Best regards/

Hello Brenda,
With the Empire State Building rising on the top left, and the gorgeous pink flowers anchoring the bottom, there is a most appealing atmosphere in the photo, maybe the idea that spring is finally upon us. Six months from now I may be envious of friends Down Under welcoming the spring, but in the meantime it is a pleasure to see scenes like this.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello querida Brenda,
Pili
