Welcome to TE, Brenda! Very nice concept of "Behind-The-Shoulder" shot with controled and shallow DOF to emphasize the statue. A less-crowded scene would have been a bit better but even so I like your POV here very much!

Its one of my favorite spots in the city, especially around christmas-newyear season, its the most color ful joint in the city. Great POV, and excellent framing..

I had a look at your interesting shots of NYC. They are all great, you've got the open eye. This one is well composed. I like contrast of the golden statue and the white icefield.

I had not seen this photo shot and posted on 3/14/2006. That was Einstein's 127th birthday, and it is genuinely gifted composition. Prometheus looking on, hauntingly, at the skaters. How did you like that photo of the woman wearing a Bourka, speaking on her cellphone?

Here's another great composition with the skating rink and the golden statue of Prometheus (I wonder if I have ever realised it is actually Prometheus). Today's photo is an excellent follow-up, taken from a different angle.

Well I hadn't commented on that photo although I remembered it quite well.
This is a good 12yr old shot ! The clothes fashion is probably a bit different although not that much !
Great idea to post the same shot 12 yrs apart.

It's interesting to see how you've decided in the past few years to take a different position for this picture.
When I compare both pictures, my preference goes to your recent upload. The statue also has a more golden colour.
But on this photo the skaters are nicely spread over the ice rink.
