Photographer's Note
Barrancas National Cemetery is located on the Pensacola Naval Air. It was established in 1914 on the site of the old U.S. Navy Yard at Pensacola. A small cemetery had been maintained here in conjunction with the Marine Hospital that was located near Fort Barrancas. In 1838, the cemetery was expanded and established as a naval cemetery. During the Civil War years, many Union and Confederate dead were interred in the Barrancas cemetery. As the war continued, the remains of other casualties were brought here for burial. By agreement between the Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of War, on Jan. 30, 1868, the cemetery was transferred to the War Department to become Barrancas National Cemetery.

Once again, this is seven digital images blended together in PS7. Each frame is overlapped by about 25%. I did have to fight the shadows during the shoot but It was a very straight forward in the post production. In PS I only had to add adjustment layers to two images to match them up and the masking was one of the easiest in a long time. Just like with film, capturing the image correctly to begin with saved me hours of post production recovery.

Impressive image. It is always moving to realize how many people died pursuing their ideals of justice, duty and freedom, for which they deserve our respect.
Wonderful reconstruction work in PS7. However, I'd crop the image on the left side, just at the left of the tree, to add more balance to the rows of tombstones and to avoid the slightly distracting paved piece of road and the 2 stones on the bottom-left.
Thanks for sharing.
