Photographer's Note
This house was built by John Rutledge as a wedding gift for his wife, Elizabeth Grimke, in 1763. As it turned out, John Rutledge would be the chair of the drafting committee for the U.S. Constitution, and worked on the document in this house.
His wife, Elizabeth Grimke, was the aunt of two famous abolitionist sisters, Sarah and Angelina Grimke, who also have a close connection to the Magnolia Plantation in Charleston. Abolitionism was undoubtedly an activity of which John Rutledge would have wholeheartedly disapproved.
The building is presently an inn, the John Rutledge House Inn. The wrought iron balconies are every bit as spectacular as they seem.

Hello Roger,
What a fine and elegant building. Nicely captured here under a sympathetic ambient light. Good choice of the vertical format. A pleasing harmonious palette of tones and good clarity.

Hi Roger
Another superb shot, such beautiful unique architecture ....
I love the touch of green and the flag, rich colours with good detail in the building & great framing of the focal point and that bit of tree branches attracted me because it seems to echo the main subject so well. A fine lens work and ths for sharing.
Best regards

Hi Roger,
Your choice of title instantly intrigued me, I was anxious to read how it tied into the image. :) What fantastic work of wrought iron, and the deep green color is a compliment to the entire product. I like this angle you've taken, giving us an idea of dimension and scale. A gift worth getting married for, yeah? lol Hope all has been well. Take good care.
Friendly wishes,
Jason
