Photographer's Note
Here is another picture of the spider, this time with the settings. I didn't use the macro mode on this one, just zoomed all the way, and flash. I find that I get a crisper picture that way and just as close as the macro, because the camera is hand held and a breeze blowing. I tried the macro mode also, but this one is the best focused settings with my camera. - shutter speed shows (1/100.0 sec)Exposure time (10/1000 sec) - iso (64) - max lens aperture (2.8) -metering mode (pattern) - lens focal length (21.30mm) - Gain control (none) - Contrast (Hard) - Saturation (High) - Sharpness (Hard).
Hope I have included everything - Hope you like this camera hound, I think he/she is getting used to the camera :)!

Appropriate use of the flash. It allowed a larger DOF than that we can reach in macro mode, and created a black background that highlights the main subject. I like also the little piece of green at the top left in the framing. Well done.

what a nice macro I tought before I read your note...;>D Now after evenmore impressive.
Fine coloures and extremely sharp.
the only complaint... the green leaf in the above left corner is a littlebit disturbing...
Very nice shot.

Qualitywise this one is better than the one from yesterday, DOF covers the subject better. Your note on *how* you took it I find interesting, as I have the same camera, but didn't think I could go this close without using the macro (and no flash). I'll have to experiment a bit, it seems. Autofocus in macro mode can be a bit tricky, because you never know whether you get the front or rear sharp, but with manual focus there's usually no problem, I think.
I agree with Olle on cloning out the bit of leaf top left.

This deffinatly better than yesterdays :0))))#, notes for this one are really good. I still think the careful use of sharpen and burntool to the front couple of legs would bring them back into focus/Sharpness and possibly darken the front petal, but thats me being picy/fussy.

Assez dégoûtant mais quelle belle photo. Le mise au point est très bonne et les couleurs éclatantes. La fleur rose permet de bien voir le sujet. Excellent!

This picture is horribly well done and confirms what I have said about long shots with Olympus Camedia C-5050Z. Good shot ..

Incredible picture! To be able to see the different shades of green on the spider! Also, the fine details of the hair and the eyes on this little creature! Surprised the spider stayed still long enough to get snapped. Also like the petals of the flower! One of the petals, you can actually see the faint threaded edge on the darker pink petal. Just wonderful!
