Photographer's Note
This was another shot caught on the same day as my last post. The wing closest to the camera is blurry, I assume it was moving. If there are any insect experts out there, are those pink sacs for pollen? I know on some of the other captures I took, they were bright yellow and filled with pollen. I'm assuming these are like little bags to collect the pollen in?

Hi Steve. How do you do it man? Your macros are so cool! The DOF is fantastic and let's face it, you can almost count the number of hairs on his body. They aer the bees pollen sacs, perhaps it is the colour of the flower that affects the colour of the pollen.

Your "collecting pollen" series is a real treat, Stephen. A very appealing macro shot, with excellent detail on the bee's body and left wing - I think the other, blurred wing is a special bonus here. Great colors and contrast, and nice off-centered composition with your sharp main subject seen in its natural environment. Congratulations.

Very nice macro, Stephen. The bee is very sharp and the detail is excellent. I don't think I've ever seen the sacs before, but I usually try to stay away from bees! Good job!

Another excellent macro, you are very good in this jobs. The bee is extra sharp, but it's a bit lost insidethe colorful bacjground. I made a WS for you. I'm not sure you'll like the non-natural technique, but it sure gives mote attention to the bee and the flower she is standing on. What do you think.
Well done, Stephen.

Beautifull macro. The blured wing doesn't distract me much because my eyes stare at the awsome details of the bee. Great colors and good DOF.
