Photographer's Note
You need to get permit to visit this area, only limited number of permit each day. Unlike Coyote Butte South, even though you have to drive on dirt road, you don’t need high clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle to get here, therefore it is much more popular and harder to get a permit, especially in the high season. See BLM web page for how to obtain a permit.
Once we were here, it is easier to understand why there’s a need to limit visitors here. The environment here is very fragile. As you walked on this rocks made of thin layers of plate, some of it crumbles as you step on it. Some you can break with your fingers and if you rub on it and it crumble into sands.

Hello Way,
Wow, spectacular, really eye catching. Looks both natural and unreal at the same time. The man in the middle is perfect, and completes this great POV and framing.

Hello Way,
I think it's really not that easy to climb this undulating rock to the top.
A fantastic natural phenomenon in a beautiful reddish-brown colour, creating also a strong contrast with the blue Arizona sky.
The hiker is placed at the correct position on the picture.
Best regards, Paul

This is an amazing rock formation and the sweeping shapes, a terrific dynamic image especially being such a static object and most unusual. I feel as if that guy is standing on a piece of wrinkled cloth being stretch diagonally to tension showing how huge this rock is in great details. This conveys the strangeness of nature very quietly and simply. The slice of blue ozzie sky further adds to the sensation. Gorgeous high quality shot as alwasy, My Congrats.

Hello Way,
That's a good idea to have included this hikler in your photography. Without him, the picture would have been a little bit empty, even if the colors are beautiful (as usual with your photographies).

Allô Way!

I read about the fragility of this place...
Location wise I think this is the same one whose wider picture you posted earlier...confused because in that the location was 'Page' while in this is Coyote Butte North.
This closer shot brings into view the details of the layers, the 3D effect of the elevations and depressions, which cause all the fragility...I guess its sandstone!
Lovely warm-cold colour combination with the blue sky!

Hi Way,
Another superb picture from Arizona! The word of "superb" is understated, I know. But I can not think any other words to describe it.
We skipped this part of Arizona during our SW US trip. But your wonderful picture lets me imagine I was there myself.

Hello Way,
Oh, wow! This shot just jumps off the screen with the impact of a front cover of National Geographic! Your composition uses the natural lines of the rock to sweep viewers into the very womb of the scene! The colours, the textures, the sharpness are outstanding.
Definitely one for my favourites!

Hello Way,
Really a magical place. You got a nice lightning putting in evidence the colors and the textures of the stone.
Good composition with the stone stripes on the right border leading the look to the hiking bringing some green colors and an idea of the scale.

Ciao Way
Bravissimo
Ciao e buona serata

Wouu it seems an image from another planet, quite spectacular and impressive color contrast, the man seems to be walking carefully
Well done

Interesting note, same happen in the Atacama Desert ( Chile) same 8 years ago, people , local and tourist use to go up the very high dunes and descend doing a kind of sky-sand
I returned 2 years ago and they are not allowed to climb

My dearest Naughty Boy
What can I say about this photo that hasn't already been said. You might be a naughty boy, but your use of the camera is as if you have an angel on your shoulder. This is pure art. A stunning landscape where the photographer has paid it the highest compliment and done it complete justice. No wonder they only give out a few permits here. They made the right choice giving you one of them. Congratulations my dear, flawless as usual.
I'm very excited as I've just organised our holidays in September!
Big hugs, I miss you, you know. Might go and have a sticky beak look at PF and catch up with our lovely friends

Hello Way,
Considering your description of the fragility of these rocks it's surprising that you are at all allowed to climb them. On the other hand the man (perfectly placed a third from the left) provides a very important element to the composition. The rocks look absolutely amazing, shapes as well as colors, and as always you show us a technically and artistically perfect photo.
Kind regards,
