Grand Canyon Gap, a photo from Arizona, West

Photographer's Note

A view between a gap in the trees, on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. I have used the tree at left as a reference point for the verticals, as the plateau slopes away to the right & gives the illusion of a cw tilt. I think this was near Mathers Point. This area is around 7000 feet above sea level. The Colorado River below is over a mile (5280 feet) lower.

Taken with my old film camera using Fuji 200 iso film.

Very good scan quality here Chris - The colours are rich and I love the orangey-reds against the blue. Incredible to see the very flat landscape which is opened up deep and wide by the forces of the river. Lovely to see. Warm regards rosemary

The wideness of the Grand Canyon is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the Grand Canyon. The quality of the light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Chris,

One of my favourite spots in The US. I have been here 4 times. The last time was in 2003. Very nice view showing the geological formation due to erosion. The view and colors are spectacular.

Hello Chris, when I first looked at this the colours are spectacular but for some reason it also had the "old" look appeal, your note explains why. Awesome view, well captured.

I wondered what gap can be here :). Very nice shot. One can see here how flat the area around the Canyon is. Beautiful colours. I find it strange that you used an analog camera such a long time.
