Seligman is a census-designated place (CDP) in Yavapai County (Arizona), USA. In the 2000 census, the population amounted to 456 inhabitants.
This is a small town located along Route 66 and of which it still retains the flavor.
The city was founded in 1895, following completion of the railway which became an important port known as "Prescott Junction".
In the twenties, Seligman was also reached by Route 66, which became the main source of income for the city.
Since the seventies, following the start of construction of Interstate 40, Seligman began to be cut off, finally, to make matters worse, in 1985 the Santa Fe Railroad ceased its activities on site.
The glorious past of Seligman is still evident on the main road where they survived as the Aztec Motel, the famous Snow Cap, like the Copper Cart Caf and 66 Road Kill and several gift shops on Route 66, as The Rusty Bolt.
The city is on the path of Route 66 and the previous Mojave Road.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP covers a total area of 16.5 km .
Juan Delgadillo in 1953, with very little money available and waste wood, built the Snow Cap Drive-In, over 50 years, thanks to good food, but mainly for fun on the owner (known as the clown Route 66), became famous throughout the world
