Photographer's Note
Another view of monument valley. I am trying to upload only the shots that i haven't seen so much around so that i don't bother people with the myriad of pics from MV in TE...
I tried to keep a considerable amount of foreground in this picture, but maybe that means the monuments are too far away and appear unrealistically diminishing in comparison to the rocks in the foreground...
I darkened the foreground with a graduate filter and the sky with a cir-pol to try to give more emphasis to the monuments themselves.
Again this shot was taken in early afternoon, so the shadows are quite nasty...

Beautiful shot! The colour is otherworldly and the shapes are too! This really captures the sweeping panorama of the place, and the huge scale. Excellent!

This is photographic art at its finest...and I think that those late afternoon shadows add drama to the shot. Well done, Marcelo!

Marcelo: yes, essentially the American Southwest. But your image is fine also because of its great DOF as any good landscape should strive for. I'm amazed that you got such DOF with only f/5.6. Also, watch the straightness of your horizon and there is some dirt on your sensor...

Hello, Marcelo--
Nice work, the large foreground works well, with the rocks portraying the erosion process that will eventually befall the monuments themselves. The hard shadows are actually nice, i think, giving a feel of the hard light that hits this area.
Thanks!

Excellent and creative use of filters here Marcelo. I really like the shadows in this photo, they really give the rocks and monuments some good contrast. The dark blue sky and dark orange earth compliment each other beautifully. This is a great photo.

Hi Marcelo! Very good colors and sharpness, just the thumbnail itself is already very attractive! A very nice POV, very unique view especially for us who haven't been there....you've shown us what it's like to be there! I'm ok with the shadows actually, they don't bother me that much! A very fine composition. rgds.

Hi Marcello,
Personally, I like your inclusion of the foreground, as it has a lovely texture and colour. And I don't think the light is too nasty either. However, I think the composition is somewhat flat, and lacks focus, and the whole would be more interesting with more features popping out on the sides.
