A close up of a tree bark at White mountain
Update: I shot this picture with a nikon N2000 film camera with i think tri-x film. The tree is called a Bristle Cone Pine. They are some of the oldest living things on this planet. One of the trees that they cut down was over 5,000 years old. I am not sure if they have found any other trees that are older

Maybe not for TE for some:-) but I don't care either, I do find it teaches us something and with an artistic eye! It looks almost like a wave with that composition showing the curves, particularly in the lower left part, nice soft grey tones, well done !
Personally I would frame differently, simple fine black one around the pic.

Hi Benjamin,
I love these textures and patterns on this wonderful close up creating a great almost abstract image. Black and white has worked well to bring out these great qualities of the tree.
