Photographer's Note
Different girl, different crosswalk, dad not mom... yet the joy of the moment remains. Whether it is an ice cream cone, or bright red dancing shoes, it is easy to experience delight when you are this age.
I could hear the girl's grandmother out of the frame on the left talking to her son about the dangers of crosswalks. But the girl was safe, fingers clutched in her father's steady hand as she skipped across the street, oblivious to everything, but this glorious moment with sun shining and breeze blowing.
Would that life could always be so filled with carefree delight!

Did you see the nailpolish as well? I think she and her mum agree on the cloths, perfectly matched together. I like it that she's just not touching the ground.
Sweet moment of joy...
(I have a different Dutch word in my mind, but I can't find an adequate translation)

There is much moviviment, a dance, in this photo! I like the girl's attitude in spite of the father's firmness. A good background helps the scene.
And I appreciate the story told in the notes! A warm way of looking at what happens around us: nice! It is nice to meet people like you, Curtis!

A lovely photograph Curtis. I can really feel her joy over beeing out shoping with her father and maybe over her cute red shoes : )
A very well composed picture taken in exact the right moment. Well catched.

The joy of skipping across the street, gazing at your new red shoes, one of the reasons I so LOVE children, and why I do what I do for work. You've captured the essence of what I love most about children, the ability to find so much joy in the simple things. Excellent capture of the look on her face, secure in the safe grip of daddy's hand.
The only thing that gets me up most days is the thought of all the children's faces I'll see during my day, it's the adults in my life that make things difficult, children rarely do!
Thank you for this lovely reminder of what it means to be a child. Wish more adults would take the time to skip across a crosswalk too!

Curtis!
This is one of the best child photos in TE. You captured the most important moment, the happiness of the child. The composition is excellent. The note is fantastic.
Thanks for sharing

I'm a young woman and I hate wearing pink (don't ask me why)but the color looks good on this cute little girl. She is beautiful, and careless, the scene looks peaceful... and you captured it very well !

Astonishingly joyful photo of yours, Curtis.
That inch of space between her right shoe and the pavement seized the day.
And she must be a daddy's little girl...and a sugar and spice, and everything nice...

It's rather hard not to smile lovingly at this picture.
Thanks, Curtis...

Hi Curtis,
As Patty noted, this is a photo full of charm...! I love those red shoes and the way your cropping focuses on the carefree attitude of the girl and the act of crossing a street -- which, given that you also focused on the tight grip of daddy's hand, could also be, on a symbolic level, the act of crossing one of life's bridges...
Great job!
