This is a photo of my favorite dancer from Indonesian Day 2005.

(Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong) ...

I believe her name is Vannana Emirza Djohan. She was amazing. I also love the boldness and colors of her costume. She combined many different Indonesian dances into one - called Eksotik Khatulistiwa (Exotic Equator).

I'll post further photos of her dance. I think the poses are great.

I missed this occasion, even though i go thru the papers and weeklies to know what happens in the Bay area (got the filipino festival though), so thanks for sharing this with us, david.

mad in SF (for missing out on a rare occasion to see indonesian culture).
