Photographer's Note
A phone on an underground BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) platform in San Francisco. I made a slight perspective fix (not really happy with it but don't know how to use the tool properly), contrast boost and B&W -> Tritone conversion, unsharp mask.

Nice shot. I like the b/w. I wonder why you didn't include more of the cable - it looks like it has a great shadow?
I've been using perspective correction a bit recently (don't know whether you saw testamento II) - I select 'free transform' in PS, drag a few guide lines off the rulers into the image (probably four), approximately where I expect to have the lines I want horizontal/vertical, then CTRL-drag the corners of the image until everything squares up. The guides are very helpful in making it accurate. The process usually takes quite a few iterations, since each time you move one corner, everything else changes...

Wonderful shot! I like the texture of the wall...it really looks spectacular! The play of shadows is really well shown here. Wonderful image!

Really great urban detail. Your capture of the pattern and tonality of this wall are great. I like you're off-center position of the phone, too. Well seen and executed.

Lovely graphical shot. The tilt of the handset breaks the symetrical tones of this photo. Excellent picture.

Classic composition and use of B&W. I particularly like the 1970s or 1980s interrepetation of 'modern' in the tiles.
(I would have straightened the handset though...)

I find this simple shot very compelling. The side lighting adds great depth and texture. b&w was a good choice.

This is an original shot. The use of B&W is well seen because it enhances the relief of those funny patterns on the wall, looking like honeycomb cells with hexagonal symmetry. This symmetry is "broken" by the phone, well contrasting here dispite little difference of tones. There are expected geometrical distorsions (principally around the phone). This certainly comes from the use of the wide angle. However, it's a nice and interesting artwork shot.

I do kind of like this shot... Why?? I guess beacause of the bubbles on the wall.. Something is disturbing me in this shot though..

bravo, to this minimal graphical abstract picture,
especially the fact that it's B&W .

Very nice Adam. The honeycomb pattern and the B&W make for an interesting capture. Very well seen.

Very artistic shot. I particularly enjoy where you placed the phone within the frame, it seems to create a sort of balance to the image by lightening the darker half of the frame. I also find the perspective interesting. They way you have captured it here, it seems as though the wall could be curved slightly which to me almost creates a sense of motion. The fact that the phone isn't perfectly hung, adds a bit of diagonal motion within the frame and infers that someone was there almost eluding to the presence of a person. One thing that I think really could add to the overall image is a very small detail, the fact that there are two number eights. This photo already has so much depth and texture as well as repetition, I thought it would be fun to reinforce the slight illusion of a person by adding focus to the handwritten eights. Check out my workshop.

This looks both sci-fi and old fashioned at the same time. Fun composition. Lighting is quite effective here as it adds a cool, scientific feel to the patterns.

I'm big on photos of pretty much nothing, thanks for sharing.
I find the skew a bit distracting, so I did a workshop.
Hope you don't mind.
Thanks

The patterns and texture are wonderful, but the impact of the receiver askew is particularly great. Well done.

Hello Adam,
Very nicely done.Beautiful composition with B/W. The honey comb design forms a very interesting pattern.
PS: Are you the web master? I saw messages in the Announcements from you.Or Am I mistaken?

Hello Adam
Very unique photo you have shown us.
I agree with you, the perspective is a touch skewed, but that aside, the hexagonal pattern broken by the rectangular phone box is wonderful. Very catchy mixture that really stands out. By the way, what was the original colours of the composition?

Hi Adam,
I love this black and white photo, with the interaction between rounded bubbly areas, against the jagged angles of the phone. I see your perspective problem, but I don't think it's especially major - unfortunately, I cannot really help you with that, though, as I don't know how to adjust it either. But a really great shot overall.
