Photographer's Note
Sprague Lake Rain
Sprague Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park.
Sprague Lake is a wonderful place in RMNP. The large picnic ground and stables make this an often overrun location. It has a wonderful wheelchair accessible mile loop trail around the lake.
The two mountains in the background are Hallett Peak (el. 12,713 ft. - 3875 meters) on the left and Flattop Mountain (el. 12,324 - 3756 meters).

Bonjour John,
ca , c'est de l'ambiance.
On voit bien cette pluis qui frappe la surface du lac et les lumières évoquent bien cette météo.
Des très belles lumières capturées malgré leur faiblesse.
Les photos de pluie nous changent de l'ordinaire.
Bets regards.
Daniel.

Hello John, how are you doing?
The quiet transition to nature.
Having spent the best parts of my childhood weekends away from the city really makes me fall in love with this view.
My first impression is the quiet scene here. Rain falling gently on the lake and that combined with some great low light colours and light impressions really makes me get into the feelings you might have experienced here.
So after a day at work and the previous days work of starting and putting out fires, this one really hits my spot.
..........................................................*silence* I wish I could just be in this scene.
Thank you for sharing.

Hello John,
Wow! Not only a unique capture of this part of RMNP but a fabulous photo as well. An incredible shot! I love the raindrops on the water, the trees on the other side of Sprague Lake and Hallett Peak with the soft Sunlight shining on it. Congratulations for not taking the usual cliche photos that photographers take of our beloved National Park.

John the colours in this picture give a different mood to the scene. I noticed some red hue under a grey sky. Well composed and framed scene. The two mountains in the background are high and beautiful. A peaceful scene. Thanks.

Hi John,
The colors are amazing, mainly the water's color. And the landscape let us see its bigness and beauty, until these far mountains. I like the tree "layers" in the shot, in horizontal position, giving depth. Very well done! Regards,
Angel.

John. This is a strange coincidence. Just yesterday I was thinking on working on THIS very view for my third posting of Colorado. The second one comes tomorrow as I have already used up my quota for today. But I can tell you this now ... Those small rocks have not been moved. The conifers in front maybe half an inch taller after 21 years. And thanks for this posting. I was scratching my head to know the peaks in the back. And I got the name of the lake wrong too. I thought it was Bear Lake.
Natural colors and I like the rain drop on the water. Warm regards. Latiff.

Hi John:
Love it! This one is fantastic, particularly because you caught the rain falling on the lake. Of course it would be nice if the trees were a bit greener, but you can't have everything I guess. Otherwise I can't find anything to fault about it. Great job.

Hi John,
Another lovely capture of untouched wilderness.Your country is so rich in such raw nature and I was able to get a small taste of this a couple of weeks back with a short visit to Wash State. The composition of the image is excellent with the foreground creating a frame so as to create a window to look through. You handled the difficult weather so well.TFS and great stuff!

Hi John, great scene with the mountains rising up behind the water and with the rain it seems to have more life. This becomes a picture with texture and motion. Very nice.

This is one of the best rain photos I've seen on Trekearth. The way the light is reflecting off each little ripple is awesome. The composition is nicely framed with those beautiful mountains in the background. Well done, and a pleasure to view.

Olá John, this is a very impressive capture, considering the weather conditions. Beautiful scenery with a very peaceful atmosphere. I guess that seeing the drops of rain on the water is what makes this so appealing and yet...we can see those attractive mountains in the background. Excellent work!
Have a nice weekend,

John,
This is a great shot, the rain adds a sense of tranquility to the scene. Rain would be a welcome site for us in N. Florida. The lighting and colors are fine as is the sharpness and detail.

Hello John,
Rainy days have some fine qualities too!
Well composed image with a pleasant feeling of depth, good foreground interest and varied light...
Colours are a bit muted in the rain, but the shimmering surface of the water makes up for that!

Hi John. Something we don't see enough of on TE - rain! It's pasrt of life and yet we shy away from it. Maybe we don't want our cameras to get damaged? You've portrayed a fairly dank day into a thing of beauty - no mean feat! The soft tones receeding to the distance are excellent and the big rain drops in the lake show us that nature is at work. Best regards. Paul.

Hello john,
This is an interesting picture. I like the way you've captured the rain. We only can see its manifestation by the impact on the lake surface. but we don't see the raindrops in the air!.

Hi John - wow, fab timing, the raindrops decorate the lake well, fortunately without decorating the lens, I know exactly where this is, when I visited the lake was partially frozen in early october...and totally deserted.
