North Shore Peace,

Sprague Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park.

Taken moments after my last image .. (which was looking at the storm to the West) ..This part of the lake was silent and still sandwiched between the late morning sun and the storm.

Sprague Lake is named after Abner Sprague who ran a lodge here from 1910-1940. (source: a park service sign along the lake).

Excellent capture.Nice weather it seems as the white clouds are floating over the blue sky.The lake,the greenery at the shore and the sky - all makes this a perfect composition and a very refreshing one too.

Hi John, beautiful blues in this water, complemented by the deep blue sky. The detail in the clouds and trees is quite remarkable and carried into the reflection in the water. The rocks and log seen in the water at the forefront is a nice added touch. Very nice.

John this is an awesome place. The lake setting and the views around are very beautiful. Good clarity of this shot with impressive colours and reflections. I wonder what happened to the lodge. Is it still there? It would be a popular destination nowadays :-)

You captured wonderful detail and color in this lovely sky and then doubled the pleasure with the lovely reflection. Clarity of colors is so good that you can see the rocks through the water. Despite some minor ripples in the water, the reflections are so well defined.. The colors and definition are comparable to composition and perspective exquisite. Tthis is a spectacular shot showing nature at its pristine best.

Great photo. The classic american lanscape with relection. Superb colors with a great sky. I wonder how this would look in a panoramic format.

It's been a long time since I've been out west. I think the last time I was in Rocky MT NP was almost a decade ago, if not more. The one thing I do remember of Estes Park, the actual town, is or was the big bronze elk? or were they bighorn?. Anyway, my memory is going but I do remember the statue... great photo. Keep em coming.
