Photographer's Note
This panoramic was shot during the Disney premier of “Pearl Harbor” in Hawaii on the flight deck of USS JOHN C STENNIS. It was an amazing event and awe inspiring to see the organization and attention to detail. The personalities, both in front and behind the scenes, were huge. The crowd was about 2000 people.
Tech: this is a ten frame panoramic with each frame shot at f8 for 30 sec. The only light was the movie screen and the city in the distance. It has always seemed wild that so many people were sitting still for that length of time. My only regret is that I couldn’t get detail on the screen (it was not allowed anyway-Disney rules).

Wow! Thanks for sharing this secret side of sailor's life :)
Amazing quality and sharpnes, especially keeping in mind exposure time and number of shots taken. It's a pity that one can not see movie still on the screen.
BTW, did they use Dolby Digital on USS? ;)

Great panorama. It's a very dramatic shot with the way the lighting is and the sky. The size of one of these ships is really seen well in this shot with the receding seating. The tower is well positioned above the end of the line of seating, further accenting size as in height, also. Very nice.

Great panoramic, very surprising. Very few people can have the luck to make this composition. Thanks to get it and share it.

Superb, the long exposure makes everything seem magical. I don't mind that there's no detail in the screen, that would have looked wrong somehow anyway. Excellent work, Craig.

Incredible panorama !!!
So many people standing in one direction with such an angle, inserted in a so surprising place has a kind of magic.

Craig, are you a wizard? Every of your panorama is a dream....Quality of light and sharpness have to envy nothing to Disney! And the place of your shoot is so incredible...Can we give 10 pts :)- ?

Craig this picture is really breathtaking... I saw it when you post it and I guess I was so impressed that I didn't know what to tell at this time. I like the panorama technique, but when I see the perfection level you reached it's quite discouraging :-)... But I will post some panoramas soon.

wow this is really awesome craig
how in the world did you manage such a clear shot with a 30 second exposure. i mean it's fabulous. seems like nobody moved even an inch in those 30 seconds for each frame what 5 minutes. seems pretty unreal :)
nice to know you're stacey's friend :)
take care

Truly breathtaking. Wow, 30 seconds each frame, it did come out wonderfully. The colors are grabbing, so vivid. The perspective is also excellent I do not see a better place you could have taken these shots from, except maybe from up there on one of the towers... ;)
Really though, having such an expansive view is thrilling!
