Photographer's Note
Total lunar eclipse taken at 0413 A.M.(9 min. before the end of totality). Exposure: 450mm (effective focal length), f/4 at 1/2 second, ISO 800. Lens is a Canon EF 70-200, f/2.8L IS USM with a Canon 1.4X extender (Not using IS).Tripod mount.Croppped. The shutter speed at this focal length must be short to avoid blurr, due to the earth's and moon's rotation. I do not have a polar/equitoriql mount to track celestial objects.

Good job, Vincent. I thought about this while cracking away at a deadline this morning. Good rich color. Nice simplicity and positioning within the frame.

Well captured! I've photographed the moon before and know how difficult it can be. Getting good detail is never easy and, considering the limitations of the equipment, I think you've done an outstanding job. I like the colouring during the eclipse as well, which is shown to good effect with this image. Well done.
Regards,
Tony
