This is at Cannon Beach, Oregon. It's about one hour west of Portland. It's beautiful there! The large rock in this photo is called Haystack rock. At low tide (when I was there) the tide pools are accessible and you can see many colors of sea stars (star fish), sea urchins, sea cucumbers, and crabs. It's very fun!

This is a little storm rolling in from the sea. It became very windy but it never actually rained, at least where I was.

I like this photographer in the picture. I wonder what his photo looks like...

I like your original way to show us this place, with the photographer in the composition.
The range of greys is really nice.
I say "hello" to the sea-gull above the rock ;-)
Just one little thing : the horizon is leaning, but maybe is it your choice.

nice b&w.. i always love theese kind of rocks in the ocean... they're so solid as they get beated by the waves 24-7.. cool song again...

I never been there but that rock remind me Olympic NP that I visited last year. Though, I had an exceptional sunny weather and no rain... You framed very well teh photographer and the rock... but i wonder how would it be if you were with your foots in the water to capture the whole reflection of the rock...
Anyway, very nice B/W shot!

Nice shot, but something is lacking, on the left size, maybe more breaking white waves, or if you were developing this pix in a dark room, I would whiten the left part of the sky. Or crop it more like a square

Nice shot Jennifer, photographer is a bit too central though. The rock is impressive. Horizon is not quire level though. Still a very nice study of a "shutterbug" in action!
