Hello All! Here is another picture I took of my journey into the southern Oregon forest. This is the Rogue River cascading through the rocks. It is called The Gorge.

Good morning Katie -

You have the potential for a nice image here but there are a few things holding this image back. The first one is that there is a very strong blue color cast. The cast in this instant is caused by the deep shadows in the gourge. I have posted a WS showing how to correct this. The second is the blown highlights in the upper portion of the image. The blown highlights are not very obvious in your image but one the color cast has been neutralized they really stand out.

Hi Katie,

Wow, this is a really nice picture. Wonderful composition and light. When you mentioned Rogue River I took a look at a map of Oregon and my impression was that it was a big river. However this looks like a small one. I really love this kind of nature. Many thanks for sharing. I hope you have some more photos to post.

This a very nice place you present us here.I can almost hear the running water! Your photo though doesn't seem to have a theme. Nature itsel is of course the best theme but you don't have stn in this photo that our eye would center on and then begin its journey to the rest of the photo. The lighting is also quite bad; you should try a different hour. Keep on shooting!

I'm liking these nature shots- you caught a beautiful part of the river. The water has this great icey blue look to it. And the green moss around it is perfectly fitting. Wonderful work!

Hello Katie, Great shot here! Very tough lighting conditions when deep in the forest like this. Tough to get things well lit while preventing overexposure. I think your Fill Flash has helped much on iluminating the greens of the moss in the foreground.
