Delicate Arch up close, a photo from Utah, West

Photographer's Note

Delicate Arch appears to rise out of an Entrada Sandstone rings bowl. It's impressive dimensions are: horizontal span 10 meters, vertical span 14 meters, and the top of the arch is about 16 meters over the base.
To get to the main hiking trail to this view, drive the Park Road to Wolfe Ranch Road (11.7 miles), turn right and look for parking at Wolfe Ranch. It is a 3 mile stroll roundtrip to Delicate Arch.

Hello Ray,

Whenever I see a B&W photo of the rugged West, I visualize an Ansel Adams photo. It was shot in 2005. Did you use a digital camera, or scan an analogue image? Thanks for the note.

Hello Ray,
another fascinating landscape, the arrangement and the textures of the rocks are superb, I like very much that you included the curving foreground adding interest, perspective and depth to the presentation of the Delicate Arch. The dark background looks mysterious, the sky expresses mute drama. I like the delicate, moody monochrome and the indisputable timelessness of the scene. Congratulations and thank you!
