Photographer's Note
To get up close to the very fine Landscape Arch requires a 2.6 kilometer roundtrip stroll on a dirt and rock pathway. Off the path are side trips to Tunnel and Pine Tree arches.
It is best to avoid hiking between 10 am and 5 pm, unless exploring in late autumn and winter. Summer time temperatures can reach or exceed 100 fahrenheit (38 C).
And the National Park Service has a good reason for photographers paying attention to all the elements of "light"..."A photograph is not about an object, it is about light on an object. The best photographic light occurs early in the morning and late in the afternoon, as the lower angle of light goves your subject depth and a greater sense of reality. The warmth of the light deepens the redness of the rock into amazing hues, the very reason this land is often called "color country" or "red rock country"."

Hello Ray, finally my favourite arch, so delicate and probably one day it will collapse. I prefer the pictures with colours. and here important that we see the blue sky inside the arch. I was in September so it was not hot. Good for me, when I lost my way and was without water.

Hello Ray, an excellent point of view which emphasises the delicate nature of this particular arch; how awful it will be when it eventually breaks!
The colours of the sand and rock contrast beautifully with the blue sky.
Good one.
Regards Jean.

I hope nobody will be foolish enough to walk across this arch, but then people do stupid things. Awesome capture of nature's wonder. Good pov and dof with nice details. I like the colors. Well done, tfs.

Hi dear Ray
Your marvelous sereis never stops, that sounds exciting. Ya this shot should be in colored not in B&W, your choice is the best. The blue sky is so vivid and fresh to see against rocky yellow sand.
All the best and have a good day! Takero

Hola ray
Now a colored capture of the Arch , better for me, because of the contrast with sky, letting admire the natural colors
Well done, regards

Ciao RedRockRay
This looks so like the Australian Outback, I had to do a double-take. And having seen this in your B&W version, must admit to preferring without doubt the colour version. Look at those orange/gold tones in the Earth, they give me goosebumps. What an amazing rock formation, a superb sky, excellent composition and depth.
I love this place, thanks for sharing it with us.
Cheers
Lisa

Privet, Ray,
I like this idea to call every State by own name. I know Arizona is the Grand Canyon State, for example.
Thanks for posting of this archive photo, I hope this "bridge" is OK today too. Just incredible monument of the Nature Mother.
Best wishes from rainy Ural,
Serghei
