A huge old geyser at Mammoth Hot Springs, northern Yellowstone National Park. There are many old dead tree skeletons entombed in this living rock.

Hi Mike,
Nature can be an amazing artist, can't it? At least it looks like it when an inspired eye makes beautiful compos like this one, that reminds an abstract painting. I like the delicate shapes that can be perceived mentally on the rock, the texture, the smooth pattern of pale colours. A great and inspired photo! Congratulations!
It's only pity that you didn't post a larger version.

Hi Mike,

I like the composition of this photograph and its abstract nature: the dead, offset tree, the strange organic shapes of the "living rock", the dark crescent at it's top.

I agree with Jos� though it would have been nice to have a larger version of the same image - to see the details of the geyser more clearly.
