Photographer's Note

This shot was captured with my "cheap" camera. The ones I took with my nicer camera, didn't turn out since I had a setting wrong and they were all out of focus. Sometimes point and shoot works better for us amatures!
Anyway this is a photo taken from Beacon Rock. Beacon Rock is a large monolith in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area. For a look at some beautiful pictures (someone else took!!) Beacon Rock and Hamilton Mountain They have some lovely shots of the trail up Beacon Rock. I hope to hike up there again soon and with my camera "set right" take some more shots!
Hamilton Mountain has a 7 mile round trip trail to the top that my girls and I did a couple years ago when they were only 5 and 9. They've become quite the little trail girls!
Beacon Rock trail is much shorter, it only takes 25-30 minutes to hike to the top, but has some lovely views on the way up!
