Desert Color, a photo from Arizona, West

Photographer's Note

Whenever I am unsure what to post, I always go back to my desert shots. After living almost 14 years on the edge of the Sonoran desert, I have many pictures. This one was taken in the vicinity of the desert gardens in the Phoenix area. I have always been a fan of red rock, and this one plays an important role in this picture.

Hi Roger,
I like the cacti very much and to se them in nature, not in pots, and so many and big, was a great attraction for me. I was happy that we had time enough to visit Saguaro NP, Organ Pipe and Joshua Tree NP. And on the way through Arizona we saw more. In September some of them were flowering but for sure, in springtime it must be wonderful, like here. Fantastic living desert. On this red soil I can see many different species, opuntia and cholla, saguaro near the rock... Nice yellow flowers on the right.

nice the view of this shot from the desert gardens in the Phoenix area.I like the variety of the plants as the different colours some of them that are grown in this arid site.

une photo toute simple;, remplie de ces plantes qui acceptent des conditions de vie difficiles. Une v嶲彋ation peu dense au trvers de laquelle il doit 皻re facile de se mouvoir. Un d廥ertsans doute photog幯ique avec de grosses rocailles 廧arses comme celle astucieusement inclue dans le photo.

I have been there also...a very beautiful place and the Rock makes it magical and mysterious I think.

Hello Roger,

The desret but an image rich in various vegetation with the details and too the colors of the flowers very well collected. I like too the great depoht with the prospect to the rocks betewwen the vegetation.

PS The beach cabines are used for changing clothing and for arrangement of material.

Hi Roger,

The point of view is taking my eyes toward the re rock which is giving depth to the composition. It is also allowing me to adnmire the beauty of the desert garden. The afternoon light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Very good composition of this beautiful garden with this wide variety of cactus, is a plant that I really like to see them so in their midst should be a pleasure.

dear Roger,
very desert ambience is wonderful here,
orange cactus flowers look so strange and beautiful against dry blue sky,
queer shapes of leaves are interesting so much,
back big rock seems including "a face" on it,,,

here because your name is Edge!: -) This is a place imaginary collective's in Europe, seen thousand times but at the cinema. it is a strange effect for me to think to live close to a place like this. The nature and its force to live surprise me. cactus and the small plants with the yellow flowers are much tenacious, adapting itself at sunlight. your composition is simple but very effecting. its triangular form emphasizes the cliff and cloud. magical colors.
