Photographer's Note

With the first of my last six Kodachromes loaded in my camera I take Intersate 15 and head towards the desert. It had rained the last few days. Sun was setting, so I expected good light. From the freeway I see a car stopped just beyond the next ramp, at the edge of desert, in the middle of nowhere. I take the next exit, turn around, come out of the freeway and park behind the red pickup. A hispanic family is taking in the light and the fresh desert air slightly damp with moisture.

Recognizable from the frame and the quality in it! Wow, this is the works! A superb piece of documentary photography. The little kid staring out with those big, big eyes and the dad, tattoo'd, mustache'd, lean and mean with that wonderful protective gesture of his hand. I modestly take off my hat for this one, Animesh. Congratulations are in order.

I have seen it today at photoholic and I like it a lot.
Great background with the family and pickup and his pose with the hand above the kid`s head is wonderful.

Hi Animesh,

Its a nice feast to the eyes to visit your gallery. I find this shot out of 50 mm very nice and appealing. The wide eyes looking at you. Full of hopes and dreams.
You are among the few human photographers active on TE now. This genre is endangered now and on the verge of extinction here. :) So its again a pleasure of see these and share.

Hi Aminesh,
Simple a superb shot, the light is fantastic, so real. A beautiful moment, the expression in the childs eyes are brilliant, his dad's protective posture, a great image all in all.
