Ces escaliers de secours posent plusieurs probl鋗es. Depuis 1930, ils ne sont en effet plus reconnus comme une issue de secours � s壜e �. Leurs d廥avantages sont nombreux : trop grandes pour les enfants, trop escarp嶪s pour les personnes 殟嶪s, impraticables pour les personnes en fauteuils roulants�

Salut Serge,elles ne sont pas sures mais elles sont encora la,un piece d histoire depuis New York depuis ces vieilles facades,la composition est tres tres riche,coloree et bien detaille,image originale! Belle journee et merci,Luciano

Hello Serge,
These emergency ladders may have some serious shortcomings as a means of rescue, but they certainly make an interesting subject for the observant photographer. I like the oblique point of view and the saturated red tones offered by the nicely illuminated brickwork. The black and white sign makes an effective focal point.

Bonjour Serge,

These ladders may not be very practical but they enliven the view of the building enormously! The diagonals, textures and lined shadows are a delight to a photographer! Our eyes are constantly moving across the frame as we are brought away from the wall with banners and then back towards the bricks with the ladders and shadows!

Hello Serge,
I like the two different styles of brick and fire escapes in this photo. The lighting and shadows are also very nice. This is typical, old style NYC, and I am guessing from the ads that this is somewhere near Little Italy or Chinatown.

Hello Serge, a view quite foreign to anything that we would see in the U.K.
They are really quite ugly don't you think but, provide an interesting subject for a photograph; indeed if I was there I would be doing the same as you!
The tight composition emphasises the many lines of the ladders alongside their shadows.

This is an everyday scvene but to stop and look at it in detail,there is so much to look at in more detail. The lines, bricks, colors, textures are all really cool. Perfect framing too,

Belle couleur, ce qui donne une grande force � l'image.

This is about colour of an old building in Manhattan, which is well recognised for its typical cast iron architecture and as you mentioned, the emergency ladder is quite an eye sore. Love it or hate it, it's a vibrant city that I love. This is brilliantly exposed and well detailed just wonderful with so much to look at. Congrats

Hi Serge,
Even though these stairs have some problems, they are still beautiful in a way and I guess form part of the history and the cityscape of New York. A nice close crop to show a good selection of them and their beauty too.
