Photographer's Note

Christmas is almost here, and I'd like to share the most iconic holiday view here in NYC.

The giant tree in Rockefeller Center draws about 125 million visitors every holiday season. I try to view it at least once every December, and I can confirm that the area gets VERY crowded. :-) This year's Norway spruce is 77 feet, (23 meters), tall. It is topped by a star made of crystals.

This is a view looking towards the tree from the Channel Gardens. Every year there are the same white angels with their trumpets, but this year there are also smaller trees with gold pine cones. You can also see a bush in the shape of a reindeer. Right under the tree, Prometheus, the God of fire, holds his flame.

I visit Rockefeller Center every Christmas, but it is still thrilling to see this magnificent tree in person, and feel the excitement and energy of the holidays.

I would like to wish everyone on TE who celebrates, a very Merry Christmas! :-)

In the WS are two more views.
