Photographer's Note
From the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum website:
The first Space Shuttle, Enterprise, is a test vehicle designed to operate in the atmosphere; it is not equipped for spaceflight. Enterprise was rolled out at Rockwell International's assembly facility in Palmdale, California in 1976. In 1977, it entered service at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards Air Force Base, for a nine-month-long approach and landing test program. The vehicle was flown atop the Boeing 747 Shuttle carrier aircraft and also released for piloted free-flights and landings
to check out all systems and performance characteristics. This test program was a necessary prelude to the first orbital flight by the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1981.
In 1985, NASA transferred Enterprise to the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum where it remained in a storage hangar at Washington's Dulles International Airport. In November, 2003, Enterprise was moved to the nearby Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center where it will be on public display while it is restored.

Nice point of view Nikos.
I enjoy looking at space crafts, and especially this view.
The fisheye view is close to our own view when standing near this craft.

Using the fisheye lens gives a very nice touch to this composition. I think without it, the shuttle won't be looking that impressive. good job.

A great use of fisheye for this unusual angle of the shuttle. It really gives a good feeling of the size of this craft. The man at the bottom right also gives a good impression of scale. Nicely framed by the windows and lights.

Γειά σου Νίκο,
Εντυπωσιακή φωτογραφία και η χρήση του fisheye φακού την κάνει ακόμα πιο συναρπαστική. Πολύ καλός φωτισμός επίσης.

Hi Nikos. Well that would be a great use of the wide-angle. It takes the shot up a notch or two. When I was a kid my dad worked at Dulles and he took me there way back then to see it when it was sitting out in the elements. It's good to see somebody else is joining me in the Dulles area on TE. You can see with my shots how lucky I was to have the blue light coming out of the windows here: Space Shuttle. tfs Nikos!
