Photographer's Note
A lonely road in the Paso Robles region of Northern California. The evening light on the velvet like hills caught my eye as I roamed the backroads after a violent storm.

Hi John,
Marvellous hills! The lighting really make them seem like velvet folds. Well captured!
I don´t know if it was on purpose but I like the detail of the car in the right. Nice yellow vegetation on the side of the road, as well. Regards,

Bonjour John
une superbe netteté au rendez-vous, mélangée à beaucoup de douceur dans ces centaines de courbes là-derrière.
Couleurs tendres et naturelles.
Un cadrage très approprié.
Vraiment joli.

Hi John
again this 3-D feeling in this shot, the smooth waving hills explecit shadowed/ enlightened that it creates an enormous depht even in the texured sky, compared with your last shot, you master this exclusive as an unique trademark, very well done.

Great light after the storm. It seems as though every wrinkle and fold in the hills is emphasized, and actually the wavey hills are mirrored in the wavy clouds. The road is a good device to add some interest and introduce the human element. Well done!

Hi John. I love shots with roads going through them and this one is no exception. I don't see any noise but it looks a hair on the soft side and I'd think about more USM. I like the unobtrusive placement of the car. No complaints about the beautiful landscape either. Nice work John.

John I have to say this is one of your very best in your gallery. Great capture with the low angles shadows. That mountian looks so unique in every way. Reminds me of Merrit but only by a little. Cheers Paul.

Hi John
I like the sculpted lighting, & texture, of the bare hills. The road adds linear perspective, & a strong, compositional diagonal. Good to include the car. Well done!

I think I may have said before, but there is something about your photos that is recognisable. I don't know if it is what you do in PP or the camera you use, but something in the texture of your images says "John".
The composition here is superb with all the diagonals and the play of light on the hills is spectacular.
Well done indeed.

Bonsoir John,
J'ai toujours aimé le désert. On s'assoit sur une dune de sable. On ne voit rien. On n'entend rien. Et cependant, quelque chose rayonne en silence...
[Antoine de Saint-Exupéry]
Dunes sculptées par la nature, l'ensemble fait penser à un grand tas de sable, avec la beauté en plus, bien sûr.
J'aime beaucoup.
Amitiés.

Good afternoon John -
What can I say? Just another wonderful image. I don't think I have ever seen the Central California Coast hills look so wonderful. The road and car are a nice touch without them I don't think the image would have the impact that it does. Well Done!
Thanks for sharing

The low sun brings fine effects. Fascinating hills, they really look softly. Sometimes it's good to chose backroads!

I don't know how I missed this one John...
The first thing that strikes me about this photo is the composition. The road leaqding across the screen to the car (a nicely added 'human' element). Very muted colors, with a nice splash of rich green.
Well done,

Hi John,
What a striking shot! The clouds seemed to be in tango with the dunes and the excellent control of the exposure brings out the form of the dunes very effectively. Those little posts keep the tempo well and while there are graceful movement the intermittent fast beats of the straight lines create an exciting music to the eyes. Simply great!! Regards.

Hi John - I'm a bit late to see this and don't know what else I can add, but the hills really look like frozen sand dunes and the straight line of the road balances the curvy hilltops.
