Photographer's Note
This little fall is only 1/3 of a mile from the trailhead in the Wild Basin area of Rocky Mountain National Park. I decided to walk down here to finish off a nice day in the mountains ... by the time I got to this fall it had started raining and was in the midst of shifting into snow. Most of the images were ruined by nasty water droplets.

Hi John,
Welcome to TE! Just like you, I'm quite new at photography but I TE is for me the best place to learn.
This first-post photo is great! One can actually feel the rushing water of the fall.

Hi, John. Very nice first photo. Did you use a neutral density filter, or was it dark enough to do 1/3 sec without it? I want to try some long exposure waterfall photos like this, but haven't yet.

Very nice image. Colorado is a very beautiful state. I had the chance to go to the Colorado Rockies while I was a student in MN in the '80s. Latiff. Kuala Lumpur.

Hi John:
Great post! The blur in the water is perfect--normally I like a longer exposure, but this is exactly the right amount. The colors are beautiful, and the whole area compliments the water well. Thanks for sharing, and continue to post awesome shots like this.

Another nice waterfall shot from you. The effect on the water but the longer exposure is well executed. Not yet too long, but long enough to create a great effect of movement, making the image dynamic.
There are several details I like especially in this scene.
First the trunk of that pine tree in the waterfall, nice detail of nature. Also the big rock in the left front, and the small rocks in the right corner balancing it all. The tree on the right side adds extra interest and nice warm and bright colour too, good idea to capture it with.
Sharpness is okay, but could be stronger on some points I think.
I just want to make shots like this to, I've come across a waterfall (just a small one) on my last holiday, but it was hell to capture it well without a tripod, so most shot's aren't that great. Really should buy a tripod.
But this work is fine, thanks for sharing.

Hi John! This is a nice Waterfall! Too bad that log is in the waterfall, it would be nicer if it was on the rocks, or somewhere else. You've got some wonderful nature in yout country...

Hi John,
I like this shot....plenty of detail and exposure looks spot-on to me. Waterfalls tend to deposit branches where they're impossible to lift out unless you don't mind getting very wet, don't they? Personally, I think it adds to this image.

Alan

Hi John,
Somehow I missed this one. Beautiful waterfall deep in the unspoiled woods with stunning long exposure. This place reminds me of a spot in the Adirondacks with the same dead fallen tree at the bottom.
