Photographer's Note

Never Summer Evening.

Click on the image for the large version .. this is little more than a glorified thumbnail.

Gore Range Overlook
Trail Ridge Road
Rocky Mountain National Park

This is my favorite overlook (and trailhead) on Trail Ridge Road.
The distant Gore Range is visible at the far left end of the image .. see the large post .. the Never Summer Mountains dominate the scene.

The Never Summer Mountains are the primary range of the wilder West side of Rocky Mountain National Park. The West side does not have as many of the primary attractions as the East .. (with some notable exceptions like the headwaters of the Colorado river) ... The West side is also only accessible via Trail Ridge Road in the summer and early fall. Winter access demands lengthy looping detours from Denver or the other Front Range cities.
