Photographer's Note

A restaured school dating of 1920 in Fruita, near Fremont River.
Mormons settled to the Fremont River valley, circa 1880, and established Fruita, Caineville and Aldridge.
Only Fruita prospered and by 1920, the work was hard farming and growing fruits but life was good for the no more than ten families living there.
The land changed ownership over the years and the community was later abandoned.
Some buildings were restaured by the National Park Service.
