Photographer's Note
Here is another picture from Grand Tetons National Park. The water is the Snake River and we are at the Oxbow bend area. The Snake River gets very wide at this point. This was taken early in the morning and you can see a bull moose sitting there. Eating aquatic vegetation is one of a moose’s favorite things to do.
From what I hear this spot can be quite crowed at sunrise on a weekend. I was actually on my way to Yellowstone at this point but I decided to pull over for the obvious reasons. I will post a workshop showing a close-up of the bull moose for all those interested. I tried many different shots here and I went with a tighter crop but at some point I might post a wider shot. I thought since you could see the moose better here made it the better shot. Taken around 9am.

Wow, I'm impressed!
I know how difficult it is to see a moose, and even more difficult to take pictures of them. Even though this picture is not oh my god how breathtaking, it's certainly very beautiful, and a good nature shot! Amazing landscape, beautiful colors and that moose! Bravo!
I would try even a tighter crop, to see the moose a little closer and cut that small hill on the left that in my opinion is not necessary.

Okay Steve... now I'm jealous!
I'm Canadian- and I've never seen a moose! (More common in Canada then US???)...
Very vivid colors here- maybe a 'tad' over the top, but it makes it pleasant to look at. A beautiful scene- and the moose is definately the icing on the cake for the shot.
Ideally (safety aside) it would be nice to have been alot closer to the moose and have the same stunning background- but I'm sure he would have bolted (or charged!).
Overall- a nice shot Stephen.
All the best,
- Dan

Like the contrast between the gentle hills and the rugged mountains. The moose makes this picture so perfect and give the feeling of tranquility in the overall scene. TFS.

Hi Stephen,
I really like this shot - for me it has all the right photographic elements in good balance. The foreground with the moose is special and leads to the treed hills and beyond to the mountain view. Great composition with very good light and just the right amount of color saturation to render this quite a powerful image. Great work and TFS. Gerald

Hi Stephen,
A really fantastic scene, very well composed. The different layers of the scene are great. The colors in the foregraoun ecc are great.
However somehow I have the diffuse feeling that the colors/saturation of the sky and mountain make me percieve the scene as artificially flat? Don't get me wrong with that: it s a great shot, but I was wondering if anyone shares that perception.
TFS, Mike

Hi Stephen
So many views, & so few critiques, for such an outstanding landscape. Perfect colour & sharpness, with marvellous reflections & the added bonus of the moose. Good contrast & saturation. Tfs!

Hi Steve,
There is all the beauty of the nature wilderness in this scene, the moose despite being small catches the eye in the foreground. I'm wondering a bit about the colors here, especially the greens on the right seem much saturated to the point they could look straight out of a HDR processing.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Wow, fantastic shot Stephen! The composition is wonderful, with a series of layers leading us from the foreground lake with the moose to the forest, the mountains and the sky. Individually each element is nice, but when you put them all together like this it's really beautiful. The vivid colours are great too. Excellent work!

What beautiful scenery and excellent luck to spot the moose. I like the high saturation of the colours; you have three separate colour bands. The long focal length has compressed the scenery making it quite painterly, but none the worse for that. Thanks for the close up too.

Well Good Evening Stephen. I would have to say this is one of your finest landscape nature shots posted for some time. The foreground colors and sharp peaked mountains in the background are quite striking. The moose is the final icing on the cake to. The only thing I would suggest is the workshop needs a little leveling. Arrgghh that is going to bug you I know. Cheers Paul

Hola Stephen.
Superb landscape captured with vivid colors and good light, the presence of the moose really add a lot to your shot, we don't see them very often in TE. This is a great shot, congratulation. Well done and TFS.
Best regards.

Bonjour, mon ami Stephen,

This must be an exciting place to be and the right time too. The colours are amazing and the clarity allows me to enjoy the scene right from the foreground to the background. Simply alluring!!

Marvelous landscape from your country during the fall. Colors are amazing. I like the compression of the landscape due to 90mm lens
Well done

Bonjour Stephen,
je suis séduit.
Les couleurs sont magnifiques, les contrastes de lumières détachent bien les plan, surtout l'arrière plan.
Le ciel est magnifique, une phto qui fait penser aux scènes de fils préhistoriques.
Quel magnifique endroit. Beaucoup de talent ici.
Regards.
Daniel.

Hi Stephen,
Vivid tones and hues really make this scene capture the heart. I like the diversity of colour and the varying layers of interest. The background mountains rise almost as from another world. You retained good quality here despite the number of pixels required for trees and such. Nicely captured, Stephen.

Hello Stephen,
I like the diagonal line of the trees with under an very nice lake and above the splendid sky, know how difficult it's to see a moose, but you did very well with your WS, than we see the moose very well.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Steve,
The many layers give you excellent DOF. Great framing with the water interspersed with the golden marsh, the long sweep of the hillside and the mystical mountains all following the rule of thirds. I also like the contrast between the watery blue, strong golds, bright greens with a fade back to misty blues. The moose is a nice plus. I think this would also work as a vertical.

Hi Stephen
The view itself is grandiose, but the presence of the moose makes it a winner.
Te colors are awsome, well saturated and present in such variety, that there is no boredom looking at it.
One of your best
Have a good WE
