Photographer's Note
I wanted to shoot the cherry blossoms in central park, aimed at the trees and thought something was missing. I looked around to see if there was anything that I could include that would make the shot more complete. Then I found this statue, one of a war hero. I must admit that I don't remember the name though! But I think he did add that "extra" element that I was aiming for. Hope you'll like it.

Hi Shaeri
very nice shot, good light and soft colours. I like the compo. To me the flowers lack a little sharpness. but it's a very nice image

Hello Shaeri,
Indeed, the statue does make the scene more compelling. The composition, the colors and the resolution are spectacular. I had until recently been using a Nikon D70 with an 18-70 Nikkor lens, and just upgraded to a D200. But this photo could not be improved with a D200 or even a D300. Warm regards, and best wishes for a rejuvenating Sunday.

Hi Shaeri, I think this shot has a lot of potential and that your thinking was good regarding the inclusion of the statue. As chpp said, the image is a little soft. It is a shame that the statue was not in the light, as it is a bit dark. Hard to be sure, but it looks as though the image was not quite horizonal as the statue seems to be leaning back a bit. Also find the inclusion of the person lying down a bit distracting. Sorry to find so much to say, I do think the idea was good. cheers, Steve

Hi Shaeri
Nicely done. The softness of the blossoms contrasts with the hardness of the statue. Since the statue dominates the scene it could have used a bit of flash to light it up a bit.

Hi Shaeri,
yes I like it. Do you know that in Rome, in Venece square on the Vittoriano monument, there is a tomb to the Unknown Warrior?
Also your Hero is unknown, but it makes your shot more interesting.

hi Shaeri
I really like cherry and such a delicate seasonal plant. You have captured the essence of color and mood of cherry here, I must say but I do agree with chpp and steve on the few points raised. Perhaps brightening up a bit with pp work for the cherry and statue without sacrifice of mood. Nice shot.

Hi Shaeri,
Your low POV is good idea viewing beautiful cherry blossoms from bottom and also hides a laid visitor perfectly there. The statue is also good addition for me. Tree bodies in brown colors and the sky full with pink blossoms are wonderful, congratulations.

Hi Shaeri,
You made very well use of the statue, it works really well and is well placed on the right hand side of the composition. The cherry blossoms are beautiful and the light really enhancing. Great photo work!

Hi Shaeri, it is the missing element, and you're right the cherry blossoms alone would have been lacking. This really completes the composition. Colour is good and I do like this contrast seen between the statue and the blossoms.
Thanks, John

Hi Shaeri,
A fine shot under the blooming trees with very little open sky and a low POV adding strong visual impact to the statue.
The statue has a very slight, but not so disturbing tilt...
Good off center compo.

Shaeri, c'est une photo qui n'est pas courante, une statue d'un (pionnier ?) dans un cadre de verdure et de fleurs. Il semble que ce personnage soit heureux dans un tel cadre. J'aime particulièrement les arbres en fleurs.

Hi Shaeri
A good upward pov with excellent color of the cherry blossum. Perhaps a slight increase in sharpness? Great to have the statue as a focal & anchoring point, & also good to place it off-center. Tfs!

Hi Shaeri,
It's a wonderful image, it makes me wanting to spend a few hours under that roof made of blossom. The POV was well chosen, placing the statue in a good position compo wise and the branches of the trees make an interesting pattern. The only thing that eventually could be better is the sharpness, that is reasonably good but not great.
Regards, José.

This could almost be a drawing, because of the softness of the light.
I git very surprised by the cheerry blossoms in NYC and the picture shows that : a cherry roof. Excellent mood.

Hello Shaeri
The statue is the important part of the compo. Well done with it, off-centre and 'looking' into the frame. Maybe you could have sharpened a bit & added some light to make it a bit more sparkling. But I do appreciate your low POV to include the sky & more importantly the cherry blossoms in full bloom. Was trying to read from the pedestal, but could not. Good picture.
Best Wishes

Hi, Shaeri -
Yes, it was a good idea to place the statue in the picture; it makes all the difference. Well positioned in relation to the branches, too.
Like several others here, I have a problem with the sharpness of the flowers. You didn't include enough EXIF data, but it seems to me you could have closed down the lens some more.
Best,
Dan

Hi Shaeri,
I like this one for the POV. The statue definitely provides the 'element' you're talking of. Though you could have opted for a bit sharper version, I think the ambiewnce makes up for the lack of it.
Well taken,
Sagarneel.
